December 20-
My laptop charger replacement came in the mail today. What a relief! I was sick of charging my computer randomly and not knowing when it was going to die on me.
I woke up around ten hoping to call in to work and be able to call out. No such luck. I had to go in yet again. I was feeling chest pains, so I wasn't looking forward to over-exerting myself. For the most part, everyone at work knew I was fasting. So, I didn't feel like they were going to push my buttons.
I got to work about 12:30. I was told to stay on the registers (because it was much less movement). I was more than happy to do so. I didn't realize that my energy was low until two or three separate customers asked me to repeat myself. But, I got through the shift alright and asked again to leave about half an hour early. I was drained. Completely drained after three hours.
I drove home, carefully, as it was raining cats and dogs and any other animal that is joked to be eaten by Eastern cultures. I made it home just fine, but I wasn't able to go climb a mountain with my friend. The temperature outside wasn't too low, maybe in the 60s, but it wasn't going to stop pouring for the better part of three hours. So, I took a nap. This time, by took a nap, I mean I played on my fully charged laptop.
As I was nearing the end of laptop time, my theatre friend came over to take us (her and me) to the movies. She showed up a little early because she picked up California Pizza Kitchen and ate it in the living room while I finished up on my computer. Soon, we were off to see "Red" with Bruce Willis.
When we arrived to the movie theater, it was pretty vacant. We were only ten minutes early. My friend bought one of those pickles that comes in a bag... smelled amazing... and we took our seats. The theater had about 4o seats sectioned off because of rain damage from the 4 days of downpour. The movie was pretty good and the smell of popcorn and pickle was infectious. We headed out for me to spend more time on my laptop.
She dropped me off and headed out, and I came inside from the rain for a relaxing evening. I called my Brother and we talked for a bit. He mentioned about his fasts that he had done while we were talking about this one. I remember him doing one in high school, but didn't know that he had done two more, both seven days, after that. His words, "I don't recommend anyone doing it for more than 3 days." I truly felt what he was saying as today was a blah day without epiphany or obstacle.
Soon after our conversation was over, I went to bed.
David! I think one of your promises was to write daily so that your old mama would not worry about you! hahahahahaha...
ReplyDeleteI love you, love reading what is happening too. Come to NY when you are done and I will make a feast like none other!
